Employers' Hardship

Most often, a religious holiday or practice conflicts with a work schedule. When an employee requests an absence for a religious holiday, the employer must make a good faith effort to arrange the employee’s work schedule. In the Federal Religious Discrimination Guidelines, the EEOC included a list of alternatives that employers should consider as reasonable accommodation for religious employees.
